Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to help grow our services business. This is a junior sales role focused on prospecting, coordinating meetings, following up on leads, and supporting our sales and leadership team.
It is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to learn B2B technology services sales within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Research target accounts in our key segments such as cities, public sector, not-for-profit, and membership associations
- Generate and qualify leads through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and event follow ups
- Coordinate and schedule discovery calls, demos, and follow up meetings for the sales and leadership team
- Maintain and update lead, contact, and opportunity information in the CRM and keep activities up to date
- Follow up consistently on inbound inquiries, referrals, and Microsoft or partner sourced leads
- Assist in preparing basic outreach templates, follow up sequences, and meeting summaries
- Support the tracking of RFPs, RFIs, and tender opportunities and coordinate internal actions around them
- Use social selling techniques to engage prospects on LinkedIn and other relevant channels
- Collaborate with marketing to support campaigns, events, and conferences and follow up with generated leads
- Help prepare simple weekly and monthly pipeline and activity reports for management
- Stay informed at a high level about Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform so you can speak confidently in initial conversations
- Perform additional sales support tasks as required in a growing services business
Requirements – Must Have
- Post secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Approximately 6 months to 2 years of experience in sales, inside sales, business development, customer service, or a similar customer facing role
- Comfortable making cold calls, sending outreach emails, and following up persistently yet professionally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence speaking with business stakeholders
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads, tasks, and follow ups in parallel
- Basic familiarity with CRM tools to log activities and manage a pipeline, or willingness to learn quickly
- Self starter mindset with curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback and coaching
- Eligibility to work in Canada
Nice to Have
- Experience selling or supporting B2B technology, consulting, or professional services
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, or the broader Microsoft ecosystem
- Experience working with public sector, municipalities, not-for-profit organizations, or membership associations
- Previous use of LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar tools for prospecting
- Experience supporting RFP or proposal processes in any capacity
